Japanese Ration Gathering?

Apparently for the past 8 years or so, some Japanese ration "enthusiasts" have been gathering together to apparently try rations from different countries? Man, this really sounds awesome and makes me wish we had something like this.

I know that the Japanese are kind of ideally placed being near Asia, they have what would seem like much cheaper shipping costs than we do in the States and also probably customs that will allow those types of food in very easily.

I'm just wondering if laughing_man has taken part in these meetings and if he could maybe comment or share a little more about them?

Of course, I was on that occasion.
Chinese ration was very delicious.
There is a plan to try UGR next year.
