Hey fellas, saw this video and look what I spied from 2,38 onwards:



A new British ration being trailled, Lightweight Patrol ORP.

At 2,50 onwards you can see some of the components and a menu list, looks like it includes an FSR sandwich and some MCR items.

Is this the 'MCR-lite day ration/packed lunch' thing I have heard about recently, introduced for troops on short patrols who are back inside the wire for centralised feeding before too long and hence dont need all the calories packed into a full MCR?

Also, a big shout out to Marnix on here who has been great in getting me some French/Belgian RCIRs - expect a photo review soon folks!

Looks like they have gone for 1 meal pouch with an FRH and 1 FSR sandwich ready to be eaten on the move. Also looks like chocolate has now been fully replaced by fruit bars and 2x 'Screech' drinks included for hot weather, it seems a lot lighter than previous ORPs but could be an interesting one, adddition of dental chewing gum is something I'd never have thought of and spoon, wet wipe, FRH and poly bags are new for UK rations, as is the FSR sandwich.
