The current EPa´s were redesigned for new purpose and less shelf life.
I have still edible 1989 EPa´s "in stock", but was curious how long the new EPa´s will make it.
Today I had a walk thru my basement and discovered my EPa cases seems bend...

I opened a case:

Note the gaps!
I took a single EPa out of the case

opened it and took a "glued" together bread + chocolate + snack out out of it.

First thought:"Cracked" leacking snack container - but why?!

I compared a 2002 (left) and 2001 (right):

the container is swollen

Spoiled
Botulism occures with meet, but EPa snacks are "fruit salad" and "semolina".
All spoiled containers were fron 2002. That 2001 wasn´t!
So a bad batch at production maybe?
I didn´t open one and will not do for sure. I guess, they started to ferment inside from a contamination while production.

This are all the snacks from my EPa´s I have that need to go to the dump. All 2002, if swollen or not.
Safty first!
To me, the current shelf life of EPa snack was now for 8 years at that particular batch.
So if you have any (2002-) EPa ("Herta" made) snacks at home, please check them
