got this from italy today
the date:
its hard to get italian rations, my italian friend used 4 months
to gett hold of 2 rats one for him and one for me
he says the italian army dont spend a lot of money on rations
so they dont use much of what they make.
normaly they are for emergencyes or war or nato operations.

yes it has a pretty new date,last time i had "fresh" italian rations was back in the 80s
when we had big nato exercises here in norway.
to bad that we dont have those exercises anymore....we always had loads of rations,imps,mres,italian,british
