A French RCIR entree: Toulousian sausages with lentiles.

There is a same dish at the German EPa´s

the lentils had a nice, sour taste as it should be but please don´t make any comments about the sausage. I know how it looks like... Image

The texture was coarse, a nice salty taste.

but to be honest, I don´t like sausages at all....

Hi,
yes in Toulouse region (Pyrenees mountains, near the Spanish border) they also make some delicious duck or goose sausages but the most common are 100% pork. BTW, the German EPA version of "sausages & lentils" is not bad either :P

Lentils, peas and all other likewise "bean" products are very edible, taste good, fills good, and are really nutricious..
I really don't have any clue that they are somewhat "dissapearing" in the civil world.. It's probably one of the best meals you can have in the field, because it feels like it fills a lot more like (for example) pasta.

The sausage looks more like a dried sausage.. is it? (except that it's boiled to conserve it, and spent all of it's life in a can)

Nothing like that, it is a very "juicy" meat

Wow, French RCIR. I think I did a review about that one, awhile back. You can't beat a good bratwurst, with some kind of beans. 8)

Because lentils, peas and other legumes are considered "Third world foods"....Here in the Americas beans were and are a staple in many countries of the region.
You're right they are satisfying ,tasty and fill you up very good. Also they are very nutricious....and don't forget that they give a lot of gas, to those not used to them....

Peace!
