Germany is famous for two dishes:

Schnitzel and Bratwurst.

As we don´t have a "Schnitzel-ration" yet, the new Gruppenverpflegung (German UGR) knows Bratwurst

the pouch just need to be warmed up into hot water, they don´t need to be fried in a pan. As soon as I found 79 buddies to came over, I open them and make a review for you...

Haha, I didn't believe it at first sight, but I noticed the "hergestellt" instead of the MHD date..

In the Netherlands we always tell the Germans only live off beer and bratwurst.. (Schnitzel is "typical" Austrian for us.. Wiener Schnitzel) so it's a great proof.. I'm still waiting for the Beck's canteens

I had some of these, packed in the same way, as a civil "camping" bratwurst from the Aldi.. They were packed per 4, and also had to be warmed up in the original packaging, in hot water or the microwave.. they tasted great

What's the BW shelf life on these? 3 years?

By the way.. I have DOGFOOD from lukullus.. and.. ehh.. I believe it's from the same town..
(It's probably a larger foodprocessing company that makes all kinds off stuff)

They are from the Bundeswehr Gruppenverpflegung, similar to US UGR (Unitized Group Ration), but you will need a mobile kitchen trailer always.

If I remember right, I guess 18 month. But most components are freeze dried, just the meet (Bratwurst, roastbeef etc... ) are non-freeze dried and just need to be warmed up.

Wow, if only I could get my hands on a case of that. Great pics. Bet they don't taste as good as the brats from the Yak-Shack though, outside the entrance to Cooke Barracks at Goeppingen. That was back in the '80's though.
