Feel free to use this forum for discussions about rations from other countries - Canadian IMPs, British 24-Hour ration packs, German Einmannpackungs, French RCIRs, etc.

Personally, I've seen a lot of US MREs and I'm always eager to hear about other rations from around the world!

The german "Einmannpackung" = EPA
Erbrochenes, einzeln verpackt = vomit, single packed,1 unit

...Militry Slang

Members,

Well, I think I have found my home. LOL

MRE - meals rejected by everyone.

However, I hope this section of the forum is very active.

I offer as a first topic the rations of the NVA (East Germany). If anyone is interested I will post my knowledge of this topic.

Hi Paul. Yes, I'm definitely interested! Feel free to start a new topic on it. If you have any pictures, that'd be cool. And if you have enough pictures and info to make a page on the web site, I'd be happy to put it together.

KMAN,

As far as the info to create a page- no prob the NVA had 10 levels of rations!. But w/ pics I will have to get one of the guys at work to scan them for me from the handbooks I have.

BTW, what about (yikes) mess tins, canteens, nutrition data , recipes, field kitchens, those wondeful MRE spoons, and all of the other things that go with MREs? How far back in time will this forum try to go or is that a topic too soon to approach?

Wow, this just makes me want to whip out the crakcers and japaleno cheese spread. LOL

Paul, feel free to bring up whatever you like in the forum. If it's ration-related, I'm sure there are a lot of people who'd love to hear about it.

Heck...even if it's not rations-related, people would probably still like to hear about it. We're just starting out here with the forums so there aren't any real strict rules or guidelines or anything.

Just have at it!

Zeiti, I would not agree. I find MREs really no different in taste than any tv dinner you would buy in the grocery store, only the one big difference is that MREs are FUN to open up and eat!

I agree with you Dave, I was just reflecting what I have heard....
I always take my MRE when I go one a bike tour or hanging out on a lake for tanning in summer :D
