Yes, this would definitely be something to collect only. At $4, it's not such a bad deal right now. But I can't even get my hands on a regular German EPA, much less an old survival ration so I think I'll pass on this auction.

Hi,

Actually the German Army survival ration is the best survival stuff you can find !

It is made by Compact AS, a company in Norway. It's compressed food, very sweet, and a package - 210 gr - is enough for 2 days. You can mix it with water or milk to make a pudding. The food is balanced and won't occure any health problem even consumed every day.

The good thing is the storage life : you can keep them 40 years without any problem !

You can find plenty of emergency rations on ebay : they are all surplus from the Bundeswehr.

If you look for emergency food for your family, just buy it !

I've bought 50 pieces for my family, in case of. I've tried it and it tastes very good.

What do you search under to find them on eBay?
"That others might live."

Go to ebay.de and search for EPA or einmannpackung
you have to look to make sure that they'll ship to the US, and its usually very expensive.. I was gonna get some, but the shipping was more than the rations..

Hi Hearvor - welcome to the forums!

Is this the survival ration you are talking about:

They also make this ration: http://www.compact.no/tekstsider.cfm?id=24553 but it looks like a civilian type.

8) It's called a jar of Blutwurst and a loaf or 2 or Pumpernickel. Available at any backwoods farmhouse in Baden-Wurtemburg, etc. If your lucky, you can get some milch und kase, and a few bottles of local haystraw brewed beer.

Hi,

MR-8 - that's exactly what i mean.

The survival ration of the Bundeswehr comes in an orange package, but it's the same stuff inside.
