It's kind of scary to see all these Russian rations flooding onto the market. Were they surplus or was something wrong with them? (!)

There was a guy selling several different types of these a couple of weeks ago different then who housil listed. I asked him what the dates were on them and he said that they were "factory new within the past 6 months". And said that he had cases of them that he could sell me. His feedback was kind hit and miss though with alot of good feedback and some bad.

I have read the review on these and I don't know why but I think I want one. :)

It just makes me wonder where they all came from and why so many all of a sudden? Did someone find a warehouse of rations and decide to sell them? What conditions were they in?

Hey guys, I think I can solve the mystery of the flood of Russian rations...

If you remember my older posting about my old friend Vlad and his stupid ways of trying to do business.

Vlad and a few of his friends in and out of Russia but usually within old Soviet territories, have a direct link to the factory that produces Russian rations and Russian military and S.O. gear. Thats the reason why Vlad has so many listings for NEW Russian equipment like the new Spetznaz uniforms, Spetznaz sniper uniforms, new level 4 ballistic armor and helmets with bullet proof, double walled face shields and etc....

The reason for the flood of Russian rations is directly linked to the deal that Vlad and I were trying to make for a huge amount of rations for us on this forum. Remember how Vlad would quote a price, show pictures, and soon as I showed interest he bumped the price by almost triple to quadruple the original price that we agreed on.
Well, like I said Vlad a direct connection with the manufacturer of the Russian rations but....that doesn't mean that he can get one or two rations or has the ability to drop ship with his vendor so, in order for him to get his hands on a ration he must order a huge amount from the vendor. So, when he heard that I wanted a bunch of rations, enough for hundreds of members on this forum, that they we're some what rare and that they sell well on Ebay, he thought to himself "PAYDAY" and ordered a lot of rations before he got any orders from me or anyone else.

So now Vlad was stuck with hundreds of these rations so, instead of having to sell them all by himself he spread them out amongst his network of equally dirty Russian Ebay friends and other military equipment dealers.
I can almost guarantee that this is whats happening.

And no these rations are not old, fakes or copies these are definitely the real combat rations for the Russian military, the rations that Vlad and his friends are selling are either the bigger regular military 24hr ration or the smaller 24hr lightweight, Spetnaz, Paratrooper, or special operations ration. And yes they are really directly from the manufacturer but, remember that these rations only stay good for about 2-3 years and they really don't taste good even if they're fresh....

Vlads final line to convince me to purchase these rations were..."These rations have been rated by many Nato countries as the best ration in service today, soldiers from around the world covet the Russian rations and desire them the most out of all other rations"....Umm yeah....believe me when I say this...the only thing that you might eat out of the whole ration is the crackers any maybe the soup, drink mix and candies. The beef with porridge and the beef with "road rice" (whatever the hell that is, I'm Korean and I eat rice everyday and I've never tasted any kind of rice this bad) is pretty fatty. When you open the beef with porridge you will be met with a pungent smell that reminds you of a little"off" meat and after it's cook it turns into a small amount of meat in a huge ocean of fat. The beef with road rice is absolutely unpalatable. The rice is turns sticky and disgustingly mushy, it's like eating rice paste or rice goo and the meat is just as good or worse than the other meat portion.

Just my two cents....

Edits made: I deleted one of my small blurbs about being able to sell the rations on Ebay.. I mentioned it twice in a row.

I corrected palatable into unpalatable...definitely unpalatable

YEAH tell me about it!!! I actually closed the email and reopened it just to make sure that the email wasn't screwed up.

You kidding me...the most desired rations in the world...I'd rather eat Alpo...Alpo acutally smells more appetizing than that stuff
