Yeah this is the same guy that I was talking with to get us a good deal on a bulk order of some Russian IRP's but, after he found out that it would be a group of MRE fans doing the purchasing he decided to jack the prices up by about 4times what we originally agreed to. He does have some great pics and his products are straight from the manufacturer but, he trys to kill you on his profit margin and the crazy amount that he asks for shipping.

He likes to sound like he is doing you a favor in the beginning and in the end he tries to milk you of your money.

I would recommend not doing any business with this guy not only because of his stupid prices but also his attitude. He feels like he is a huge player in the Russian surplus market and he will not work with you on prices, no guarantees( although he says there is) and his shipping times and methods are very questionable.

Just my humble, little opinion

I definitely vote him to be the ass of all asshats. He is the ass-e-ist, ass that ever assed. Stupid asshat

It's not even that he's the usual run-of-the-mill asshat we find on eBay - it's that his business methods make no sense. I imagine the conversation goes like this:

Mkim: Hello, how much for your product?
Asshat: $5
Mkim: Cool, I really like your product!
Asshat: In that case, it's $20.

Sounds pretty typical. Though lest I be labeled as being biased against Russian asshats, I should note that I've had similar business dealings (not eBay) with Asian vendors with a similar approach (or blaming a sudden price increase on weather or other news related items like the recent earthquake in China.)

Haven't you guys ever heard of haggling? Haggling is a respected way of settling on a fair price that is in use in most of the world

In my opinion, it is the US system that is screwed up. We will only buy things we see advertised on TV, and they always cost twice what they should, because we need to repay them for the cost of advertising. We pay $ 129.98 for a pair of sneakers that we could get for $ 6.00 because they have Micheal Jordan's name on them. Hell, bottled water, the same as comes out of a faucet, costs more than gasoline.

The fact is that until the money has left your hands, YOU have ALL the advantages. No one can make you pay more than something is worth, you have to volunteer!

If you don't have the balls for hard bargaining, than buy at Walmart. You are still getting hosed, but in a way that you are comfortable with. For myself, I don't pay more than something is worth to me.

Maybe I'm not world-travelled enough, but I didn't think that haggling worked by the seller doubling or quadrupling his initial offering price.

That sounds like the haggling I'm familiar with. This Russian guy seems to think it works like this:

How much for the ration?
$10
I'll give you $5.
I couldn't take less than $40.
But your first offer was $10!!
That's before I knew you wanted to buy it.
