hi guys

here some news about the german army rations:

the 500 g tined bread is no more. 2007 was the last year which the 500 g edition were produced. from now on there only will be the 170 g cans.

the next is the EPA light. until now the producer of the whole EPA light was SIMPERT REITER "TRAVELLUNCH". from 2007 the mainmeals are made by VERIS, the wheat-cookies are made by coppenrath and the coffee is mady by TRAVELLUNCH (it was krüger until 2007). more pictures follow tomorrow. Image

I only know the 170g version.

Where the hell are the 500g canes used?
Never saw them during my Army time and never after.
Not in one EPA or everythink else

Issued to AFV crews for communal meals, maybe? As part of the German equivalent of the British 4-man ration pack?

it is used in the field kitchen. you never see one of those befor?! its been used by the bundeswehr for a long time now. about 40-50 years i guess...

for one man this is very much bread. maybe thats the reason why there will be only the 170 g cans.
