Looks pretty interesting. I think they'd have to increase the calories per meal to get up to "military" levels - right now, they average around 1000 calories each. Here are a couple of pictures from the site:

They look pretty cool - I'd love to give one a try. I think for non-military uses, you could get by fine without the internal cardboard boxes to house the entrees, sides, etc. - but I wouldn't want to beat the MREs around too much for fear of puncturing one.

...because its a company,specialized on disaster relief. Most disasters don´t happen in good old Germany. I don´t think this rations are designed for the domestic market.
They should include some pictures fore use,like on your HDR´s

I like what I see of the German disaster MRE's though I wouldn't mind a dessert being embedded in them and maybe some seasoning and a hot drink mix. That would provide a form of snack/breakfast. A form of roughage via whole wheat bread or a fruit would be nice.

I ate a German version of the Snickers that came from Wal-Mart and though good and cheap, it did not have the brand attraction of Snickers. But if the Germans can get them into the US cheaply and they last 3 or 4 years at room temperature I'm all for them being marketed in the states. Good sources would be commercial wrapping at Wal-Marts, Bass Pro's or online vendors.

I think if the German disaster MRE can be resacked in commercial-style packaging with a few extra goodies it might sell in the US. Productive costs may preclude resacking them so repackaging them may just involve stamping them with a date and new markings. I have revised my enhancements to just include a fruit or a whole wheat component as well as coffee/condiments. Kiddies and paintballers as well as hunters might- well, eat up that sort of thing.

For the foreign readers; "eat up" is Southern US lexicon for "enjoy immensely".
