Russian Rats?
You cannot give a Soldier a bowl of gruel and a hunk of brown-bread and expect them to fight. The economy of Russia has been poor, for awhile. What have they been feeding those 150K troops on the borders, for past months?
After the Chicken and the Egg, came the "Omelet"!
Re: Russian Rats?
Apparently in some cases, expired rations.

Wow, those crackers are often rancid even when they are still in-date. I can't imagine how bad they are now.
