French RCIR Ration Questions

Last week I received this RCIR in the mail from Ukraine. It took some punishment in on the way to me, but all the contents look good.

On Monday I got another one I had ordered (I know, right? Two RCIRs at once!). I noticed that the label on the first RCIR I got (pictured above) is different and doesn't have a date of manufacture at the bottom of the label. The contents look genuine, so I'm not too worried. But my questions are:

First, is this label a new style, or just an interesting anomaly?

Second, can you tell when this ration was packed by the best buy date? I'm curious to know.

Thanks for your help.

Haven´t had a RCIR for a while, but have never seen one with a printed label.
Can you spread out the contents and show a picture?
Why is the box closed with tape?
Was there a plastic wrapper around?

Hi Housil,

I'm not home right now, so I can't spread out the items right now. I can probably do it later today.

I don't know why the box was closed with tape, the front lip was not glued down, though. It was in a plastic wrapper, but I cut it while opening the outer package, so I just removed it. I also had to tape up a damaged corner of the box.

We had some "relabeled" rations from "east Europa" before. Someone printed phantasie labels and did stick them on "expired" MRE cases to "prolonger" their shelflife. That French box seems "suspicious" to me the way you describe it...

I finally was able to take some photos of the contents.

Do the mains cans have a best by date somewhere? These are commercial cans.

Except for that taped and glued box, that unusually label it seems "OK" to me.

The last ones I got, were 2015, packed:

in 2012. So it´s three years before best by date.

Hi

Just thought id mention that we import many RCIR's from france in original sealed ( glued ) factory boxes of 12. Although i am not sure why they are white label, we do get the odd one in these cases of 12 every once in a while.
Also we get individal RCIR's that are sealed by glue, tape and strapping so i dont see anything out of place with the ration you have. All shoud come in a sealed plastic wrapper/bag.

Thanks
