Why do soldiers of the German armed forces use MRE?
Why don't they use EPA?

It looks like the germans were training with the US army.
The scanario is : can you eat a MRE crackers in 2 minutes. They are so dry, it is impossible !

It´s an old thing.
Try to eat 20 salt sticks within 2 minutes...
It is (almost) impossible. The salt will dry out your mouth.
Nice party gag.
Same gag with the crackers.
It is also usually if you train with other nations armys, to trade rations.
You will get 2-3 MRE´s for one EPa. The highest notations are having French Rations

Funny you should mention the MRE Cracker Challenge. I just ran across this video which shows it being done in under 1'30":
