French Rcir temprate countries
Hi a mate got a hold of some rcir's however they are slightly different in packaging.
Please see below, does anyone know what the difference is between this and a standard rcir?

Weird that it doesn’t have English for NATO requirements.
The website link didn’t go anywhere for me.
I dunno. I know a guy who served in hot climates with the French Foreign Legion. I’ll message him to ask if he recognizes it.

All the best, Gents.

Chatting with him, he says he hasn’t seen anything like it. Everything on the label checks out but he echoed the lack of English, the cheap looking box, and odd label as being suspect. He did say he got out a year ago so it’s possible something happened since then. Figured that you’d have a better idea getting into it, since it’ll be hard to mess with the actual contents.

I have never seen that ration before and I find it odd that the ration is for both "Hot Countries" and for "Temperate Countries" which are two different environments... Could be a translation error though.
I also see the seller on eBay is based in France: https://www.ebay.fr/itm/MENU-2-NOUVELLE ... SwsOBfr~YW
The caloric content seems to be the same as a regular RCIR. If its a hot weather ration, I would expect it to contain more drink mixes and contain snacks that can last in prolonged heat.

Re: French Rcir temprate countries
I've bought several French RIEs from this seller on his Ebay.com listings. He's based in Paris and his packages arrived super quick. Less than a week to the East Coast US. The items were inexpensive, but the shipping was higher, he bundled two together for me for the same shipping so it was a great deal.

Re: French Rcir temprate countries
I watched about 3 hours of documentaries on the French foreign legion in training, the jungle and Africa, they used the standard RCIR for all 3, one soldier in Africa said the only one he didn't like was menu 3 lamb.
The contents of this one seem a bit skimpy compared to a normal RCIR. Personally I don't think it's genuine

Re: French Rcir temprate countries
Futher information in regard to these.
The seller stated these are for the French troops in Mali in Africa.
As Mali is a French speaking country there is no need for English translation
Seems legit?

Re: French Rcir temprate countries
Would anyone go as far as faking an RCIR in France? Where they retail at around €5 on classified sites, not sure they would go through the effort. And this guy is a legit seller. Why wouldn’t they just use RILs tho, they are designed for conditions mentioned by the seller
I’ll be getting a pallet of RCIRs in a few weeks, since these rations surfaced recently maybe i’ll find some

Re: French Rcir temprate countries
I know there were RCIRs being sold out of Asia a few years back but to my knowledge I don't think anyone actually received their order. I suspected this might have been another one of those, but in light of it being from France and from Serge, I'd be shocked if he's up to anything sketchy. Though, he might have also been taken?
Hey, maybe we have something new to look at! That's always exciting.
This seems odd though: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/2023-ration-de- ... 4297808113
