The box is in camo, size is similar to the French rations.

Here are the pic's:

Nice photos. It looks to me like they use a lot of commercial items in their rations. Having never seen a Portuguese ration before, I could be mistaken.

All edible items appear to be civvie stuff indeed. But I could be wrong since, just like Lifesaver, I'd never seen a Portugese combat ration before. Perhaps one of us can tell us more about it.
I'm

with this addition.

Hi,
nice one, congratulations!
The Huertas tinned meals can be found here:
http://www.conservashuertas.com/, it's commercial and Spanish but when I see all the commercial products from all Europe in our rations, there's nothing very surprising...
P.S.
you've seen you can order them by 12 tins?

Hello Stef,
Thank you for the link. Now I can tell that the ration is from this year (2007). The website mentions that the food is best consumed within five years of manufacture date. The tins in the ration have exp. dates of 2012.
The cans are, as mentioned, 415 grams with an easy opening lid. The dishes look apatizing. yum, yum. looking foreward to 2012

The Netherlands also replaced the military contains with commercials.
Military content:
Commercial:

as in Hotels etc.
As the NL-Army was short in supply (due to the forgein country missions), they used the commercial as substitutes for here.
Maybe the Portuguese did similar?!

I find it interesting that in the intructions the user is advised that the water purification tablets are
smaller than
the solid fuel tablets..... Seems like a word of caution to me. I wonder how many soldiers tossed their fuel tablets
in to their canteens prior to the written warning being included in the instructions?
