Duncans Date Reading

Post by Amelieee1 » Thu Sep 03, 2020 11:48 am

Hi all, just thought I would share with you my most recent discovery.
As you can probably figure out, im a bit crazy for duncans, so I always like to do some research and picture finding.

I also found out how to correctly identify the date of production of most duncans bars using my new spreadsheet and some simple comparison.
From 1995 every duncans bar had a 4 digit code printed onto the front side of the bar, the first 3 digits are basically meaningless, and from my assumption just lot codes.

The forth digit however, is the year of production, so we can figure out the date of most duncans now.
Duncans was first put into rations in 1991, in a maroon for the ration G.S arctic (36g). While it is an EXTREMELY low res photo, i can also confirm that in 1991 the blue duncans was spotted in a regular ration G.S. (without a 4 digit code)

the spreadsheet that is the timeline of the Duncans colours:

An example:
A red duncans bar (2000-2003) with a code of 2960 would be a year 2000 bar.
A blue duncans bar with a code of 1049 would be a 1999 bar.

Hopefully this can help some people out.
