I did it. I bought my first international rations & MREs!!

Post by EasyMre » Thu May 28, 2020 4:19 am

I've got a bunch of US MREs and now I'm taking the next steps.

I went on MRE Mountain and found some international rations, MREs, and sprinkled in some vintage action in there.

Here's what I ordered:
  • French Army Special Forces RIL 24 Hour Combat Ration Pack
  • German Emergency Survival Ration Vintage Notration
  • Lithuanian Combat Ration MRE meal
  • Spanish Armed Forces Individual Combat Ration (ICR)
I'm very excited to give these a try! Anyone try these? Any recommendations?

Congrats! If you are based in the US, you might have a slight chance of your rations being opened by customs, but hopefully that won't happen. Favourite out of that list is the Spanish ration. Those rations are amazing. Anyways, good luck, and I hope you enjou!

Thank you! I'm crossing all fingers and toes that my rations arrive happy and in one piece.

I learned about customs issues after the fact when I did more research.

Here goes nothing!

Its the same in the UK at the moment too, I ordered from ebay, items sent from Poland and UK Border force decided to open a case of US MRE and poke holes into some of the packs.

Ive some coming from Russia in a few days, im not hopeful for them either tbh.
Ill add so.e photos soon
I came, I saw, I ate some rations then fell asleep amongst the clover.

Best bet is to buy from fellow collectors on this site. They usually have the rations you are looking for and are already in your country. It's rolling to dice to see if they arrive intact and not intercepted by customs. There is a reason MRE Mtn began shipping from outside the US. Best to trade with fellow collectors. Let us know if they do arrive. Cheers, Safariman1

congrats! I got my first one today too!
most wanted: RCIR, MCI/B units, IMPs, anything old, and a packet or two of RAFCO soup. PM if you've got these, or anything else to sell that isn't too expensive.

Congratulations! :)

Assuming its the same Lithuanian MRE as the single meal, green plastic bag, they're quite tasty in my opinion. Reminds me quite a bit of US MRE units, though not quite as sweet.

Just had one the other day infact, only issue I had were a few small and very hard pieces in the main meal, no clue what they were. Beyond that, they don't fail to fill me up.
