UK MRE Meetup 2020
UK MRE Meetup 2020
HI all,
We know that a bunch of Americans (and other intrepid travellers from around the globe) attended an MRE get-together last year and are planning further meet-ups in the future.
Is anyone interested in a rival …. let’s call it an MRE Moot, in the UK in 2020?
I am sure that in stark contrast to the professional and expertly-ran meeting in Kentucky we can come up with an amateur and informal gathering of like-minded ration enthusiasts near a pub somewhere in the Midlands I hint at a location as I do indeed have an idea and will readily elaborate if any interest is shown.
I am thinking of June, away from the school holidays but better chance of being able to get out for some ration cooking.
Could I please ask you to indicate a provisional interest and preference for a weekday or weekend? I would prefer a weekday (quieter) but of course this may mean taking leave of work.
What do you say?
Mack

Wish I could join you all for this...and I would have made an effort to get over the pond...but I already have a commitment in June 2020 so I probably won't be able to make it.
Don't worry about it being any kind of professional event. All you really need are 3-5 people, a bunch of rations, and a place to hang out. The first MRE Meetup took place at a gun show but 90% of the fun was had at the local campground where we all just hung out and chatted and cooked up 20 year old MREs. And as nice as the most recent meetup was being hosted in Bob's MRENation facility, we also had a blast at the Hampton Inn on the first night and then all 20+ of us crammed into OldSmokey's hotel room on the second night.

Me and Edward Wyatt were talking about setting something up at Chatham Militaria. It is every month so we could find the perfect date.
It's on the sea, just east of London, so it would be pretty accessible. There is also a direct train from London/ Heathrow/ Europe there as well. I'd definitely be up for something like this, PM me and maybe we could discuss

Re: UK MRE Meetup 2020
I would definitely be interested in a meet up in UK, but it depends on the date or month. My holidays are planed for the last july week and the first two august weeks. It is always depending on when my boss close the company for holidays.
Tried lots of foreign rations from Europe and Northern America. Want to try Asian and South American rations

Anytime is good for me as I live in Kent, not too far from Chatham anyway, would be awesome to meet some of you guys and I’ll be sure to bring most of my collection with me. I know cap has some really amazing stuff so it really would be an amazing day out. I filled out the form anyway but any month suits me fine.
