New British ORP packaging?

Post by Mattm199 » Sat Dec 07, 2019 12:55 am

Hi all,
A quick query: I just ordered a British 24 hour ORP Menu 2 from an online seller, and expected the usual cardboard box.
I received a tan heat sealed bag, "24 hour ration pack, GP", mfg date 7/2018. I've seen similar for the single meal pack (Steve has reviewed on his channel)

Is this the replacement for the older boxed ORP's? Are the menus the same?
I'll post when I open it!

Many thanks

I've heard about it but not seen it myself yet, we are still going through the ration boxes until it runs out then transfer over to bags.

I personally think its a good idea, it would be useful emergency water carrier, improvised wash basin and rubbish bag.

To date I don't know if there is a flameless heater in them, personally they would be very useful to hear your food on the go if you have no time to boil.

No FRH in the new 24 hour rations, all is the same, just a new package

Hey fellas, I have come across both for 2018 packaging. There are still 2018 standard British ORPs in the boxes, and the heat sealed tan bags and marked G.P. or general purpose.

I'll take a couple pictures and be right back here to share.

Here we go, the box is I believe September 2018
The tan bag is August 2018.

So it looks like both are used?

Any boxes from 09/18 are a bit of a mystery, The rework happened where 6 menus were removed, so I think the 09/18 is just using up the old boxes before a full transition
