Just acquired an Ukrainian MRE direct from Ukraine, initially opened it up to check out the contents. BBE 1st August 2020.
Will open it up further when I get round to trying it out
Ukranian MRE
Re: Ukranian MRE
More photos. Pashtet and Kasha revealed. It seem more basic compared to Russian rations.

Re: Ukranian MRE
I tried it some time ago, it may be a pretty "barebones" ration, since the development was really rushed and the Ukrainian army had little resources when Russia started attacking, but regardless of its simplicity, you can feel you're getting good stuff, the meat has some thick tasty gelatin full of proteins, makes you feel like you're going to pack some muscle after eating it
I have Spanish rations permanently, feel free to ask

Interesting comment. Basic but solid rations is a good building block to a better ration.
It did feel a bit basic, separate sealed packs is a good idea.

Re: Ukranian MRE
the new rations with retort pouches are better. The food quality is better, more of it. But its really basic. No heating source, no FRH, no matches, no cold water drinks, no snacks or morale boosters. We've had the most corrupted military in Europe for 25+ years, so the army is moving forward, but it takes time. Everything can't be done overnight.
My friends that are serving tell me they're pretty happy at least that the food in the rations has gotten better, but most of the time, 90% of the time, they just eat regular food. They keep the boxes of rations around strictly for when going on scouting missions.
