heating kits
The auction ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0016284799 ) says it's a c-ration heater but from reading what I can on the item, it looks like it's just a tube of fuel tablets - probably trioxane or something like it.
Hey guys,
Just an update. I mentioned earlier on this thread that a well known ebay seller had posted the experimental C-rats wings on ebay and got a lot of money for them. Well, he did the same thing about a week ago and believe it or not the same thing happened. His experimental stove sold for over $70.00 bucks USD,
I tried to put a bid in but got beat out by the skyrocketing bids. Just goes to show the consumers willingness to pay for something.

The ESBIT stove is a German Bundeswehr one, see NSN.Baldy wrote:A while back I picked up what I assume is a Dutch-issue ESBIT stove, complete with fuel. Not mint condition, but for $5 who's complaining?

12 = Germany
00 and 01 is US
99 is UK etc...
But I´m wondering why the Haxamine package is written in Dutch with a German NSN on it

Usually it´s an red ESBIT package, not a green HEXAMINE

For 5 bucks is OK, I always us it for a coffee/tea/soup/EPa entree in the fields

But why repacking them? Just to give the box a different color and name but keep the German NSN?!kman wrote:Maybe the Dutch just bought them in bulk from a German manufacturer and repackaged them for issue?
Dutch Hexamine:

Genuine German ESBIT:

same (German!) NSN

@ Baldy: How does it looks inside?!
