So then I'm right it is impossible to import meats from other countries into the US. What puzzles me is how IRPs can get into the us without the IRP container being opened.housil wrote:Just watch this:
If you order from outside EU, our customs don´t care what is leaving. In this way it´s US customs that will dump it.

Re: Russian IRP item label translations
By officially importing it, paying for it, vetenarion or foodadministration certicate with it.
Why do you think those rations kost about $50? They probably cost around $2,50 in Russia

Sure, someone may one day kill me with my own gun.
But they'll have to beat me to death with it because it's empty.
A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kick boxing.

This was German customs at Frankfurt Int. Airport, doing EU regulations.fdsman wrote:

Cracker is right.
Of course you can official import meet, even into EU countries. If you spent lot´s of time and efforts (and costs) into paperworks for customs and veterinarian regulations...
I tried once and wasted a whole morning at the customs deparment. My two cases were sent back...

Re: Russian IRP item label translations
fdsman...after the big scare in EU and world wide with the Mad Cow disease the regulations became tougher.
I don't know if you remember that when Katrina hit back in 05', plenty of food and aid came from EU, UK an other countries. I remember that the US goverment didn't allowed shipments of EPa's, RCI'R's and British rations of being distributed to civilians .Plenty of them were either distroyed or sent back due to the mad cow disease scare. Some of those rats trickled down to E-bay and were sold ($$$$). Plenty of volunteers ate them and kept some.....nobody died of any disease!!!!!
Even a convoy of the mexican military, crossed the border( 1st time mexican army was in US soil in almost 100+ years!!) with a Field kitchen capable of feeding thousands and they didn't let them use it.They only distributed water.
they say it was due to goverment regulations, others "fear"... I simply say it was arrogance not to accept the help and aid given by the rest of the world. That's M.H.O....

Re: Russian IRP item label translations
Hmm.. My mother is really into "chernobyl kids" (volunteering and sending toys for an orphan and medical thing there, not by going to there, but by collecting toys and such)
She always gets ukrainian booze etc, but now my mother asked him if he could arrange a military ration from there.. because she nows i'm "into that stuff".. So I hope he manages to get it here in his bus, if so, I'll make an karma topic for the soviet minded people around here..
I don't really dare eating it honestly.. not that I don't trust the food.. but I want to know exactly what I'm eating.. not "oh this is beef" eating
(or.. oh!.. this is a guineapig.. oh no.. waite.. it's cat meat!) and as I see that people are willing to pay $75 to get a ration there.. ordering it from outside the US, with the possibility it doesn't arrive, I'd be a total freak to store it at my foodshelf for 5 years, and figure out I'm never ever going to eat it

I'm not exactly going to fear the ration not arriving and even if so I'll contact them and tell them plus this is really only a one time thing for the ration review.Cracker wrote:Hmm.. Re: Russian IRP item label translations
I'm not judging you
only saying that I don't dear to touch an ration where someone would pay $75 for..
It looks like the camera thing is not only for the payment (like anyone would care?) it has probably got to do with laws, like german_EPA has.. He can't sell food, only collectibles. So an ration isn't food, only a collectible
Hope it arrives
