Ok, I won't hold a grudge. ;)

Thanks fdsman for breaking the bad news to me.

There were a couple of oddities that should have tipped me off:
1. It was supposedly "Bottled in Sweden, made from U.S. bred swine". Had a mental double-take wondering why/how they'd bother using imported pigs.
2. No "Customer Action Shots". How could that be, for Bacon?!? ;)

My only excuse is blindly boisterous bacon optimism. :)

I turned off one of my filters, and was able to try the add-to-cart, and, amongst the April fool stuff, it does say:
Want these products for real?! Let us know!
I want! :)

The Canadian Armed Forces used to have cheese in tubes (1980s and earlier).
That and their crackers were amazing!

Someone tipped me off before our first joint exercise, and my only regret is not swapping more.

Is tube cheese available, anywhere in the US or Canada?
Does anyone know a source for those amazing crackers?

"....Is tube cheese available, anywhere in the US or Canada? "

I have not seen any lately, mostly the mini wheels of cheese.

But there are some cheese sauces that come in pouches, Velveeta kind of things.

and i hear in Sweden their supermarkets have tube food sections with all kinds of good stuff.

is anyone from or near Sweden who could confirm/deny

It seems to be true about Sweden and tubed food

Scarily, the article mentions tubed bacon 8)

It is odd how the Thinkgeek "joke" seems to be actually closer to truth

A strange serendipity

As promised a quick review of the tube foods in the Australian CR1M
IMG_0171.jpg
The tube foods where taken from a CR1M menu G date 2008/2009 all CR1M contain Vegemite ( a yeast extract ), a jam and sweetened condensed milk
IMG_0175.jpg
I tested the spreads on the crisp bread that are supplied in the ration pack, these were a multigrain wheat and were a little stale

IMG_0179.JPG
The vegemite was good, though was a little dry compared to what we have every day for breakfast on our toast, nice strong flavor.
Yes it is an acquired taste and as an aussie we love this stuff. Out in the field you can put vegemite on anything or in anything
IMG_0180.JPG
Next to try is the raspberry jam, even though a few years old it was good. This was just like any raspberry jam that I have had before. Again this went well on the crisp bread. I am sure there are other flavours in other menus
IMG_0181.JPG
Sweetened condensed milk, everyone favorite in an aussie "Rat Pack" Like all condensed milk being a bit old it had turned to caramel, a light brown colour. It was still good eat and would be fine in coffee or tea ( I just put it on the crisps for the pictures) It was so good I ate the whole tube
Hope you enjoyed this quick review on the tube foods in an CR1M, they are always some of the first items that are consumed.
The fact that these are good foods to be eaten on the go, and safely kept on your pocket or pouch in the backpack makes them popular.

In the Russian rations made by the technical specifications before 2010. Condensed milk in plastic tubes. Removed from a low shelf life.
Sorry for my English. А вот это вы точно не прочитаете, кто прочитает подскажу как купить дешево индивидуальный рацион питания :-)
