Hi Nation,

While it looks pretty similar to a genuine issue Swedish emergency ration, I'd expect it to have a 3 crown marking on it somewhere like the other air emergency rations they've made. The Swedish put the three crowns on nearly everything - I've got jackets, mess kits, cutlery and can openers with it on, if its Swedish army there's a good chance it'll have the 3 crowns. Though not ALL items do, it is definitely handy. As for date - I'm going to put this at somewhere in the early-mid 90s from the teabag. Possibly December 1992? 9211 on the front could mean the 11th month of 1992?

It may be worth contacting SAAB B5 on the forums as he is Swedish and has a site dedicated to Swedish emergency rations. From what I can see the code numbers dont follow the Swedish military system either, so this in my eyes is a civvie kit, awesome fine nonethelesss!

If you check Steve's channel he reviewed a similar ration from I believe 2011.

I've attached below a picture of the 3 crowns you might find.

Also for reference here is the military identification number for some Swedish Army emergency rations I have: "M2811-102010-7". The number is the same even though the years (My examples are 83, 84 and 87 all with the same serial number even with very different packaging and/or producers. From how it looks I'd expect your one to be a pilots emergency ration/survival kit.

Thanks alot Amelie and norge.

Yes it is indeed a very nice find, and will be definitely reviewed and eaten. Civvie or military, that is interesting with the three crowns but i guess is a way of identifying their own guys like the yanks did with the thunder callouts in ww2? I dig it tho!!
