Russian Winter Ration Question

I came across an unopened Russian Winter Ration with an expiration date of 10/17. Perfect condition, no bulges. What's everyone's thoughts on it still being edible? I see the other Russian rations have a 2-3 year shelf life but the winters only seem to have a 1 year.

That looks like a very short shelf life, if that's what it is.

5 Dec 2016 to 20 Oct 2017. Little more than 10 months shelf life??

The reason for this is the raiton is always labeled with the component with the shortest shelf life.

In this case it is the sweetened condensed milk tube. Everything else should be more or less the standard 2-3 years

Probably it's completely fine... Even with short BBD most of the items last long and are well preserved... I wouldn't risk it with something like those fruit purees in ORP, but in a Russian winter ration, I would say go for it! But as always, trust your palate
