I've got the sesame seed bar in there, so I'll keep that in mind, hah! Don't really fancy a trip to the dentists at the moment.

At least one of the beverage packs is tan-coloured, the rest being silvers, so I should be able to see for myself the difference in quality!

The sesame bars are supposed to be 3 thin bars but they have all fused together.
If your tan-coloured beverage powder pouch is blackcurrant or raspberry you are in for an amazing experience.

I totally remember breaking my teeth biting into mine when I reviewed it... haha I think its hilarious that its an ongoing problem for all! so crazy!

I have a way to deal with these sesame bars, i break a small piece off and soften it with my saliva, dissolving the caramel.
That way im only left with the sesame seeds that i can chew on.

How come the Brit's are low on bread in their ORPs? All you get is a small packet of some kind of biscuits, be it digestive, browns, fruit, etc. Not enough for a 24 Hr. rat. Those Krauts include a tin of rye bread and a huge packet of hartkeks in theirs??? Especially since the Brits like their tea and for dunking, and whatnot. Northern Europe also eats low amounts of bread. It seems more civilized you are the less bread you need in your life and we know how civilized are British. I think some of vegetarian or religious menu variations should have crackers or bread. More enigmatic of lacking bread bread is why there is no marmite in ORP's while Australians and New Zealanders have vegemite in their rations.

Primarily because the 24hr ration pack is still being made as if it will be supplemented with fresh rations/10 man ration pack. Pre 1989 you'd be issued RAOC bread, in plain white wrappers marked with the day of the week that it was baked on( or eaten by, can't remember which) which would go into the storage bins of your wagon. As much as possible, you'd eat a mix of rations/fresh as 24hr rations non stop for several days is pretty damn uncomfortable

They've gotten a bit bland lately, or something. Of the several I've tryed from my seller in Texas, I love the Mexican Tuna-Pasta, the Mango cake, the chocolate pudding in choc. sauce, the sticky toffee pudding, and those freakin mint and orange flavour hot chocolate packets. Everything else is OK. Oh yea, the All Day Breakfast is the greatest thing since the MCI Beef/potato slices in gravy. I'd buy a 72 pack case of the 'All Day Breakfast' as long as not the vegetarian one.

Modern ORPs are really good rations. The aspartame drinks are awful (silver pouch) as others attest.

The curry dishes are great - add a little hot diggity and you've got yourself a quality meal. I pass on the ones with corn kernels in them.. never a fan of corn. So for instance the tuna pasta salad.. pass! It has like 40% corn in it. Filler!

My favorite desserts are like DangerousDave mentions that Mango Cake. Good lord those are unusual & amazing!
But the best... those puddings.. chocolate, ginger, sticky toffee.

But the old ORPs... I miss them. Duncan's of Scotland bars.. Rum & Raisin...!

And Treacle Pudding.. I had it once. Have one left and saving it for a video of top 10 vintage international desserts (only have 3 so far).

Nothing beats the old ORPs for the chocolate and puddings. I wish they were easier to find.

I live in Scotland, UK and I plan to buy some decent ORP's in due course for myself and to also trade for non UK ration packs. I'll let you know if and when I have the stock to do so
