British 24 Multi Climate Trial Ration

Hi, I'm new to these here forums and I've been hoping for a little more info on a ration I recently picked up. Attached is a picture of the ration I got, it's a British 24 hour multi climate menu 8. On the side it says it's part of thirty odd trial menus and that the proper ration was to be launched in 2010. I can't find a lot of info on this ration online, so I hope you lovely folk can help out. I take it most of the food items inside will be a bit sketchy, but I'm going to open 'em up and try them anyway. For ration research!

Counting on how well the box and contents were stored prior to your possession, you'd be surprised at the quality of the contents! I can't say I know much about the multi-climate menu myself, but I'm certain someone will.

Unfortunately I have no idea what the storage conditions were before it landed in my hands. The box had a fair dent in it but all the contents seemed okay when I pulled it open the first time. Most of the stuff has expiry dates of 2013-14 so I'm not sure how they'll have held up. I'll be tearing into it in a few weeks for my next video, so I'll make sure to write down details and report back!

As long as they were stored correctly, they should be okay.
Just use the usual rules before tasting.

I've got a Menu 2, which I haven't opened yet.
Saving for a rainy day.

Looks like they were part of a major overhaul in 2009ish,
that led to the 24hr ORPs we know of today.

Not stupid at all! All questions are welcomed here. I assume it's the look and smell test. Your senses are your greatest weapon in this hobby imo. If it looks and smells good, I usually just go ahead and go for a bite!

Absolutely not a daft question.

Yep. Normally proceed with care, and use your senses.
I am always very wary of, and wouldn't eat anything with compromised packaging.
Be wary of bloated packaging, odd smells, odd looks, odd hisses, and odd tastes.
Trust your senses.
And always try a small piece first.. Not a big mouthfull.

Oh.. And watch a few of Steves reviews for the warning signs!
