Need a price opinion.

Post by MSSGMIKE » Sat Jul 30, 2016 9:02 pm

I found an Aussie ration for sale on ebay... http://www.ebay.com/itm/282109087762

He want's 49.37 usd is this a fair price? I know they are rare and all but that price plus shipping would be over 100.00 usd...

Thanks!

I think shipping on this one is way too much! The ration is too much in my opinion too. This is a 24 hours ration, but at most worth about $25+ shipping, I don't live in Aus., but I think $30 or less should be a fair shipping price on this. I had a tin full of these I think I paid $100 for around 2010 on Ebay. Some guy around either Ft. Benning or Bragg had bunch a few years ago on Ebay too.

Hi Mike,
Sad to say the price is about average on ebay australia. I have seen them above $80Aud before.
Sometimes they are rare and other times there seems to be a glut (ie when all the diggers came home from Iraq and Afghanistan ).
My suggestion is to keep your eye on ebay and when you see a sucker jump on it. If you look on ebay Australia you can get them 'buy now' prices ok sometimes. I saw 4 for $80Aud a while ago.

I contacted the seller and he says he has 9 left. And said he'd sell them for 55usd plus shipping. As of right now they are 49.37 so I don't know if he's giving me a shipping break or just sticking it to me. They have a pack date of 2016 but I want to believe that's the exp date. I'm not sure I punt the link on here.

Thanks for all of your information on this.

Mike

Mike,
Is that 55 ea? If so, WAY too much. 55 for 3 is fair plus shipping. Shipping from Australia is even worse than Moscow! Good luck...
it is what it is....

Mike,

I would hold off on purchasing these unless you have the money to burn. If I come across any at a reasonable price I will PM you. But keep checking Ebay US and the other Ebay international sites too, I think you will get lucky!

I'm trying to haggle with this guy but he seems really proud of them so I will take your advice and walk away. Thanks for the reply.

I talked him down to $41.75 each, he hasn't given me a shipping quote yet. I looked at ebay.au and shipping to the USA is at 30.00AU. He wants to sell them, he just wants too much.

Yup, he is asking way too much. Double in fact. I purchased 2 ADF rations a few weeks ago for $62AUD. The seller is currently out of ration packs but he does list them quite frequently. Check him out: http://www.ebay.com.au/usr/sglmerchandi ... 2749.l2754

The other guys are right though, its the postage from Aus that's the killer. I've done various trades on this board and they're always at a loss to me because of the absurd price we pay to send parcels overseas  No other way to get rare rations though. If you can find some that are already state side, that would be the way to go unless you want to foot the shipping bill to the states.
