Well, The seller has issued me a refund. Basically if the items do show up I'll send the money back. He did mention that he has had one package take up to 6 months to go through customs. I've ordered a couple of Russian rations at different times and one took about a month the other took about 3 1/2 weeks. Had one sent from the UK w/o any problems. This particular package is coming from Poland which contains 1 Polish 24 hr ration, 1 Swedish 24hr, and 1 French 24hr. So, I'll probably never get to try either one of those.I see a guy selling a Kazakhstan Ration on eBay...I think gundog reviewed one of these? He's asking 11.00 OBO plus 29.00 for shipping. Claims they were packed in 2015.

Hi People.

I have no problems inside the EEC. Receiving rations from somewhere else.... just difficult. I had problems several times.

Russia: One box from Onepamop (sorry if i wrote your name wrong). A great member of this forum, with whom I hope to keep trading in the future. The parcel was stoped at customs and they charged me something like 20-25 euros. I explained over and over there was nothing comercial, just collection items (which was true) or "Non perishable food" as I always write on the customs manifesto when I send parcels abroad. She just didn`t care. She just told me that someone at customs thought I had bought something from Russia and that this parcel wasn`t paying taxes so I should pay something like 20-25 euros. If I didn`t pay the parcel would be either sent back to Russia or thrown away. You can imagine how I felt.Grrrrrr

USA: same story. Either you pay taxes or you just don`t get your parcel. You`re buying stuff from America but you don`t want to pay taxes. Either you pay or I don`t give you your parcel. Another parcel finally (this time sent by me) arrived to its destinations something like three months after being sent. Can you believe that? I know that people at customs were only doing their job, and I don`t blame them for that, but... three months!!!!!! Another one (on this one we were lucky) was opened at customs, they opened the mres and they let it go through.

Australia: The worst experience. They just threw the parcel away when they saw it was mres. No explanation given. How about sending it back?

I guess these stories happen to all members of this forum from time to time.

All the best, people.

Luis

Yeah, I hear you guys. I've learned to either write "Sealed Packaged Food" or "Camping Supplies" depending where I'm sending a package to or receiving it from.

Cheers,
GD

Yesterday I received a French 24h RCIR Menu3 from Spain to Canada. Canadian Customs opened the box and confiscated the Lamb with Vegetables dish, they inserted this nice letter explaining why (Navarin d'Agreau is French for lamb with vegetables). Apparently importing meat, dairy, nuts, plants, fruits and live animals into Canada is illegal.

Strange thing is...they didn't confiscate the second main dish Chicken Tabbouleh lol. I guess that I should consider myself lucky, they could have confiscated the entire ration if they really wanted to.
