You got to love customs!!!

Post by bushmaster » Sat Oct 31, 2015 6:13 am

So I ordered myself a Ukrainian ration and finally it arrives on my doorstep today. Excited I grab the package and straight away I can see that the package has been tampered with, oh no what is going to be missing I think to myself?? Bring the package inside I proceed to start unwrapping, lots of tape where the original package had been cut and rewrapped. There is a familiar smell coming off the package but I can not work out what it could be?? Eventually after removing all the tape I see the green Ukrainian outer bag, its has been cut with a sharp blade and is ......sticky, very sticky, Doh! ( as the Ukrainian ration has three seperate meals ) I notice one is already opened and and is very very sticky with a brownish coloured ooze coming out. Aaarrrhhhhh Noooooo

The custom officers kindly cut into my ration pulled out the contents and after realising there is nothing wrong with the contents kindly put them back into the green bag. I am sure they noticed that when they opened the bag they cut the two small bags of honey, with all that pressure of the tape which looks like it was done in a hurry oozed out in the packaging.
You just got to love your customs officers don't you

Sorry to hear this story

This type of search has always worried me. I wondered if shipping any sort of rations overseas would end up with some sort of event where pouches or containers are opened by customs. Then the the shipping continues with leaky components :!:

I have had pretty good luck with getting rations from both Lithuania and Russia, with no issues from US Customs. All the boxes arrived a little banged up but no cut marks from anyone in the Customs department. I hope my luck holds.
