Warsaw Pact Rations

Post by fallout » Tue Dec 24, 2013 3:20 am

Hello, I am after info, pictures, and if anyone is selling them, the rations themselves from the following from the years 1977-1984:

-Soviet rations:
So I would like to know about the rations issued to Soviet soldiers in the late 70s-early 80s(1977-1984). I am not after what was issued in Afghanistan but more so what soldiers in Europe got. Pictures would be great and if you have one for sell that would be even better.

-East German rations:
I have seen them before, I would like more info though as I don't know about them. Pictures please. Also did every soldier get the emergency rations? If anyone has East German rations and East German emergency rations for sale please let me know.

-Poland:
I know nothing about them, pictures.

Cool links housil! I've seen the USSR rations on other websites, and although many of them don't look real appetizing, I don't ever recall seeing any survey sheets included with them. Therefore I'm guessing that during the cold war, Soviet troops were not encouraged or expected to provide feedback on how to improve their rations in the same way that Canadian troops are these days.....

Ok thanks for the help. I don't think 20 year old cans are a problem as I know some have rations from ww1 and 2. I have a box of MCI from 1973 so old cans are not a big deal.
