Chinese rations - real ones this time

Post by kman » Wed Oct 26, 2005 2:50 pm

Over at another forum, I saw a posting about Chinese rations and someone posted some pics. I've copied them (below). What do you think? Looks like the real thing?

Here's the original link to the forum thread:

And here's a news article mentioned in that thread:

When did their troops uniforms start looking like ours? The helmet is our shape and the camo pattern is almost the same, and what kind of rifle is that? Not your standard chicom AK type 56, that's for sure. Interesting, looks like tey have moderened up.

I'm no Chinese military expert, but I think this might be their standard-issue rifle:

The Type 97 5.56mm Assault Rifle

Interesting site - thanks for the link. I think it's kind of funny that their website is "militaryfoods.com" but they call themselves "Rationz" all over the site. But it looks like the Rationz.com domain name is registered to someone in CA, not Singapore where the company is located.

Likely when the same American business started selling products to the enemy. Welcome to the new free market world thanks to IMF and WTO.

Soso, like "ours"....

Do you know why "Your" helmet is nick named "Fritz" by the troops?!
Because the shape is copied by the German WW2 helmet...

hehehe, and if fact China's new helmet is really a Stahlhelm as it's made of steel, not of Kevlar or other synthetic fiber

http://www.cascoscoleccion.com/china/chifk.htm (sorry it's in Spanish!)

Let's hope we'll never have a WWIII but in this case it would be rather problematic to identify the troops in front as friends or enemies as almost everybody wears a copy of the "Fritz" helmet, and maybe the three thirds of the armies on the World wear a copy of the woodland camo pattern!!!
