Sending Rations to the US

Post by Big_jo » Thu Aug 12, 2010 10:20 am

Just wondered what the procedures are for sending rations to someone in the US?

I am thinking that might be better to label the items as a non-food item and hope that it gets through?

I really don'e know what the best way is :(

Send it to me, and label it as:

I got a French RCIR and British 24 rat pack from overseas. Both were marked "Camping Supplies" and they arrived without being mauled by customs.

Did the same for treesuit.. im very curious if it made it over.
The other parcel hasn't arrived yet (the return parcel..)

But the customs made a new personal record..

Out of Foreign Customs, August 31, 2010, 9:36 am, NETHERLANDS
Arrived Abroad, August 31, 2010, 9:35 am, NETHERLANDS
Sure, someone may one day kill me with my own gun.
But they'll have to beat me to death with it because it's empty.

Big _Jo,

Yes labeling them "camping supplies" does work. So does "military collectables". I have had several parcels make it rthrough from other forum members here and all had made the trip without US customs having to detroy/rape them. The shipping does a longer from Europe to the US but not so for US to Europe.

Something like one week ago I sent a couple of spanish MREs to a guy in the states and I was told that food cannot under circunstances be sent to the USA. I just said to the woman "camping supplies" (I was tempted to say "military stuff" just to see the look on her face) and she told me that "camping supplies" may mean a lot of things. So I said "sports" and the parcel was sent.

Anyways I`ve been told there is a very big queue of parcels waiting to enter, as the customs people are taking extra care with every parcel that enter the states, therefore if you are expecting something from overseas, do not hurry as it may take some time.

All the best

Luis (from Spain, hahahahaha)

Bypah, was sent on January 24 and arrived on April 24. So, three months, exactly. Kill USPS!
