Greek food was never know to be the best
Excepting baklava. Which, I admit, isn't exactly adaptable to long-term storage.
And actually I must say I've had some very good Greek food... we used to have a nice Greek restaurant here, it's closed, and I do miss it... one of the few places you could get lamb.

I just had Mediterranean buffet last night, and it was pretty badass.. except for the dessert.

They had slow cooked lamb shank, tons of other goodies, but they put WAY too much rosewater in all their desserts. A little on the expensive side, but I'll be back.

Greek food was never know to be the best, this seems to be reflected in their rations.
Thats sounds to me like in your opinion greek food is one of the ugliest tasting foods.
It's normally not usefull to discuse about tasts but I got the impresion that greek food is one of the best in the world.
Here in Germany is at every second corner a greek restaurant. And thay would not be here if the food thay have would have a bad tast.

I'm also gonna stick up for Greek food. Sitting in the sun with a cold beer and a selection of meze plates - stuff like saganaki cheese, tzatziki dip, dolmades etc - is a great way to spend the afternoon. Then you've got slow cooked meat dishes like kleftiko that just melt in the mouth.
I'm hungry now.
