I still have a bunch of those bars that I bought separately from the surivial rations. They're from 1994 or 1996 but they still taste great!

Wow. Where did mreheater72 find a case of these? I really like this ration. Considering that it has a similar shelf life & resistance to heat to Mainstay Bars, the GP-1 has a variety of flavors. I think this is psychologically important. The wintergreen tablet in the GP-1 Improved is a bar shaped like the other bars. It looks and tastes like a giant Certs.
I've never bought from these guys but they advertise GP-1 rations for sale $16.95.

Wow...that's pretty expensive for one single GP-I ration, but I suppose if you just wanted one to try, it'd be worth it. I don't know about stocking up, though...

Welcome to our forum
Hardtack!
Thanks for that website address --- lot's of SAR goodies to look at and drool over......but damn, that place is
super expensive.
That $16.00 price on those GP Survival Rations sure sucks though (I need 4 to 6 of them

).

The Chocolate desert bar and shortcake bar are "slammin". I give them 2 thumbs up. These are probably the hardest US rats to come by, unless you know someone in Army Aviation, or Delta Force, etc. Hell, I'm still trying to get my hands on a FSR, from a known E-7 Infantry platoon Sgt. that just got back from Iraq.

Your right
`DD, those Shortcake Bars are to die for! A few years back I was able to get my hands on a couple dozen of them and still have a few left. And they go surprisingly well with a beer......or
two!
