This "Trekking Mahlzeiten" are available in Germany, the "Weizenriegel BP-5" (wheat bar :?: ) are €8,49

But see what they have:

A cheese burger in a can  for €3,95 (approx $5.50)

Cool find, housil!

The cheeseburger looks very tasty. And the can looks very convenient. However...I can only image what that cheeseburger will look like after being jammed into that much smaller can. :-)

Cheeseburger in a can

Post by select123pg » Mon Jan 28, 2008 12:21 pm

Too funny. I laughed so hard I nearly fell out of my chair. I agree, no way that burger looked like that coming out of the can. Can we get fries with that?

No matter guys; At least housil knows how to survive in style.....

The only question I have is: Can you get that burger pre-canned with extra "secret sauce"? :P

Why not?!

Remember 1976?

They took off an motor bike helmet and were looking instantly like this:

Why should this not be possible with an ordinary burger either?!

Ok I got my ration to try. It has about the same texture of the Datrex ration with a VERY mild shortbread taste. Its nearly flavorless. Doesn't make you thirsty. Each square is satisfying and 2 squares is filling for about 2 hours. I ate the entire ration for 1 day and felt pretty good. The only thing is as the day wore on when I was hungry I not so much craved food as I did food with a different flavor or texture. The next morning had a normal BM colored like the ration!

Here it is crumbled up prepared as porridge. Pretty good that way.

Thanks for the pics. I hadn't ever thought of crumbling it up and making a porridge. I have some 14+ year old Mainstay bars sitting around, maybe I'll give this a try with them.
