I noticed they have a new deal going on MRE heaters. These aren't old heaters, they appear to be fairly new...but the catch is that they're "reclaimed" heaters. Here's how they describe them:

These heaters were issued to troops but were not used. They were supplied to us in bags with about 50 heaters each. Many of these heaters look spotless and factory new, and many look like they were recovered from dumpsters. As a result some have catsup or other condiments on them.

I had heard stories of the Army collecting all the unused FRHs from soldiers. I thought this was because there are special ways you're suppose to dispose of the heaters. But it sounds like someone in the military figured they could make a little money off these unused heaters - good for them!

The Epicenter is selling these heaters for $10 for a bundle of 100. So that's a great deal if you want to stock up on heaters. I'm trying to talk myself into one of their last 8 cases of Meatloaf and a couple of bundles of heaters.

That is CHEAP...even if only a portion of them work.

That is pretty much a steal...as a direct purchaser of MRE heaters, I cannot even get them for that price.

I couldn't resist the price and added those reclaimed FRHs in a recent order from Epicenter about 3 weeks ago. Haven't had a chance to try any of them yet, but I received about 111 of them in my package with 3 of them being visually bad. One had the powder from heating component leaking, one might have a hole in the outer packging, and I tore the outer packaging as I was removing the duct tape from one of the bundles. Only found a few that had stains (easily removed) on them, most appeared to be in pretty good shape. Dating on the FRHs were all over the place, with some dating back to 2000 and others of recent vintage.

The shipping costs can be a bit high if that is all you're ordering, not because of Epicenter's shipping charges, but because of current UPS charges and their fuel surcharges, and as we all painfully know, the current price of fuel. As a general rule, I've found Epicenter's shipping charges to be below what one would personally pay over-the-counter to ship a UPS parcel at a UPS store or UPS counter.

It looks like Epicenter has sold out of these reclaimed heaters as they're no longer on the web page.

As of today, it looks like Epicenter has them available again. Same price, 100 for $10!
