Whats up, I need to win this! But now I think I'm bidding against you! Of course shipping will be hell, but I imagine I can recoup the loss on ebay here in the US.

hi mark,
bid against me, no problem, i have my price, wont be angry if you overbidd me.
i think my price is very low, because i dont pay more than 4 euro per ration, including shippment.
if you need some rations shipped to usa, maybe i can help you.
bye jubifahrer

Hehe, funny: it's seems we're all bidding against jubifahrer !
Maybe that's because jubifahrer is bidding on every boxed food available on eBay
I hope you won't have a grudge against us
BTW, I hope I'll receive my 6xEPA pack soon(I know they were expensive but this side of the Rhine, they are luxury articles

)

Hey BigMark - if you win this auction and want to sell any of those stateside, drop me a note. I'll understand if you'd prefer to make a killing on eBay, though.

Hey, I'd certainly offer a few up over here mostly at cost, I'm in it to try new things/collect, not make money, but I certainly would be forced to sell a few just to recoup the huge loss on shipping! I cant even imagine, but I'm gonna try anyway, I've got the extra cash on hand at the moment, which is super rare for me.

I'd be happy to pay an up-charge for all your hard work - I just couldn't pay those insane $80/ration prices that those things seem to get every once in a while.

Drei Tage, eine Stunde.. 3 days 1 hour.. it doesn't look like it's going to be too terribly expensive, and the shipping wasn't terrible, so I'll probably buy it if its sehr preiswert sondern so teuer! We'll see. Is that correct usage of sondern? It looks right if I translate it in my head, or should I take out the so?

Depends what you want to say.
"sondern"is similar to the english "but".
If do you mean "...you will buy it, if it is
inexpansive (=preiswert) and not this expansive (=teuer)?"
You can say "...wenn es preiswert ist und nicht so teuer".
"sondern" is in use if it is the opposite of the meaning, like:
"This is not
preiswert, sondern teuer" (not cheap, but expansive)
You see?
For any further questions, don“t hesitate to ask again.

Thanks a lot, I'm trying to start using my German again, but it has been quite a while.. the best that sondern translates to in English is "rather", but it is more difficult to use in German, and I have a real issue trying to say "aber" when I mean "sondern" so I'm trying to use it. I'm headed to Germany next year, I'll have to look ya'll up when I get there, I'm trying to set it up so i can meet as many people as possible that I talk to, even if just for some drinks or dinner, I think it'll be great, and I know we already have something in common.

Apologies

Sorry to all the American folks here who can't get German rats easily, I freaking completely forgot to win the auction, and by the time I saw the email from ebay it was way too late

It wasn't even that expensive on a per rat basis.. *sigh*

I'll try again soon, I'm sure that wasn't an isolated auction, but still.. 130 euros for 11 rats would have been golden.
