MRE flea market score!!

Post by Lifesaver » Sun Nov 19, 2006 8:17 pm

I went out to our local flea market today. I wasn't really shopping for anything. I was just browsing. As I was walking around, I found a seller with a couple of mre's among their things. I inquired how much he wanted for the mre's. You can imagine my surprise when he told me $.50. That's right, fifty cents per meal. I immediately told him I'd take them before he had a chance to change his mind, thinking I was just getting the four I saw. Then, he further surprised me by asking if I wanted some more as he had more in his truck. I asked how many more he had. To make a long story short, I got two cases of mre's (with an inspection date of 10/09) for ...get this....$10!!! He let me have them for $5 per case since I took all he had with him. This is the best score I've had at the flea market in some time.

That's a nice flea market score - and they're even current year MREs - I'm envious!

Congratulations!
Does this guy also sell on Paris flea market? :(

(I mean "Paris-frogs-&-snails", not Paris-TX)

Would it be out of place to say I hate you intensely for your good fortune

ROFLMKO.... thanks I needed that on a Monday. If you want some, maybe we should arrange a trade. I can always use more British rations.

That was slammin. I slammed a cool retiree at a flea mkt. at Fayettville about 2 years ago, for 3 fresh cases for 20 each. He knew what they were, but did'nt care, cause he only payed 5 each, from somebody like that. 8) :D

It's been 6 years since I've had any British 24 hour rations. I'd love to know where to get some more.

Within the US, it seems like Ebay is your best (but most expensive bet) for British rations. You could always get lucky and find someone in the forums how has some extras or maybe knows someone who knows someone who can get some.
