Hi everyone,

So now im ready to send my first package from Norway to USA. Different countries have different rules regarding food etc, and I dont want the customs to tear up all the rations inside.

The big question is, what to write in "Detailed description of contents"?

And, when i mark the package as a gift, does it have to have a Value?

Nordic.

You definitely don't want to use word "food" on CN22 custom declaration. I usually put max $50 value and never had any problem with US customs.

It is clear that it isn't necessary to write the word "food". And WHAT SPECIFICALLY to WRITE? Goods for a camping?

If do you send food into EU, write not just food but name what you send, but avoid prohibited stuff like meet and dairy

I believe meat and dairy food products rare also prohibited in the United States. Somebody in a different thread had a box of Chinese rations confiscated!

I had a package get pinched by Customs. It was in a lot of Spanish Cold Weather Reinforcement rations. They seized and destroyed, Swine, Dried, Cured. They opened one package out of 5.
The reasons cited do make sense. There are certain bots and illnesses that don't occur in some areas. The local population may be tolerant to it, but it may be harmful to someone not from that area.
Kinda like the saying,"Don't drink the water in Mexico." I will look for the form. Then I can give the exact wording.
