Meal Kit, after looking at your menu, all I see are the same items found in our current Government issued MRE's...They might be fresh but in my opinion, they all taste the same....

I have some MKS sitting here because I finally had to see for myself. Very disappointed.

They repackaged/rebranded components (the worst/cheapest components) as other commercial and mil-spec MREs, and less content for a higher price.

Pales in contrast to a product like Black Dog Bobs where there are high quality USA components, and much more content, utility and value at a really good price point.

MKS, XMRE and Apack ready meals are all the same really. The same or inferior to mil-spec MREs and the price is too high.

MRE Jesus would disagree. So radically opposite opinions means one of you two is wrong, or even lying.

BTW isn't the point of commercial MRE's to be same or similar to mil-spec MRE's? Price is too high if you compare it to what exactly?

OT: As for the rest of your post, or maybe even everything (yeah, everything) I can't decide is it better to imagine that North Korean news woman reading it or if I imagine you saying this like a car salesman on TV commercial, like in some movies.

this

or this

PS
Please also elaborate this about repackaged-rebranded components that are worst and cheapest. MRE Star is 14 euros in Germoney, that's $17.30 American, or $172872031838302270.00 Zimbabwean dollars. For Mr.A this it's 15558.35 North Korean won's.

Full disclosure here...yes, I do link to MREMarketplace.com off the main MREInfo.com page and it's a partnership between Meal Kit Supply and myself. Why MKS? Yes, their prices are higher compared to most of the other civilian MREs, but after speaking with them, I understand the thought and care that's put into their products. They don't just buy whatever are the cheapest MRE parts they can find on the market and dump them at random into an MRE bag. They put a lot of thought into the menus and make sure there's a balance of things like breakfast and lunch/dinner. They also make it very clear what you're getting in the box in terms of menus...and how old the MREs are.

One of the biggest problems with buying MREs online is knowing how old they are. eBay sellers try to confuse most buyers by selling "2017 MREs" when they're really 2014-produced MREs with 2017 inspection dates. And good luck on Amazon - you never know if they'll actually ship you the MREs from the online listings you're clicking on or if it's just the next similar vendor in the queue, who's selling old rations. Most of the other heavy-hitters like Sopakco and Ameriqual don't try to deceive you and do sell relatively fresh product - but they also rarely tell you exactly how old the MREs are. Meal Kit Supply tells you exactly which month and year your MREs are.

In the end, most civilian MREs are pretty much the same - they (mostly) all use the same parts and pieces as are used in the military MREs. What sets the brands apart is the menu selection, amount of food, how they're sold, and yes, the price. Meal Kit Supply ticks most of those boxes for me so that's why I like them.

But I won't crap on another vendor's products unless they're doing something shady (i.e. selling old parts). So I think it's out of line for one vendor (wats6831) on these forums to write "They repackaged/rebranded components (the worst/cheapest components) as other commercial and mil-spec MREs, and less content for a higher price."

I've played it easy with the rules on the forums regarding vendors..if you're a vendor and want to hawk your stuff here, you're welcome. Just play nice with the community and bring a thick skin in case you get some negative feedback. But all vendors hear this...if you want to stay a part of this community, STOP CRAPPING ON OTHER VENDOR'S THREADS.

Who's a vendor? A vendor is someone with a company or a website who sells anything. A vendor is NOT someone who's trading MREs or selling their personal collection here or on eBay. eBay Stores straddle that line but I'm flexible there.

In general, crapping on other people's sales threads is in poor taste anyway but just know that from here on out, it's a reason for a vendor to be banned on the forums.

And no, this isn't about threatening bans because someone doesn't like Meal Kit Supply MREs...it's about poor behavior from one vendor against another and that behavior isn't welcome here.

This wasn't thread crapping. It's an opinion. I understand now that MKS is a site partner. So if you do not agree with my opinion and you need to protect the site partnership simply delete my post. No issue with that.

For the record, this isn't about vendor vs. vendor...I purchase MKS and people like them. It's fine.

Seems a bit overblown here. Just do what you see fit. It's your site.

I guess I wasn't clear enough in my post above and in the two PM's we exchanged this morning. So let me boil it down...

1. You're considered a vendor in these forums - you have an online web site and eBay store that sells MREs.
2. You're welcome to post your opinions in another post, but don't post negative stuff in another vendor's sale thread. That's the definition of "thread crapping".
3. This isn't about protecting site partnerships - it's about making sure vendors aren't abusing each other. I'd do the same thing for another vendor crapping on one of your threads.

Locking this thread now.
