Hello,

A recent MRE acquisition included a single Type 3 Einmannpackung ration. So far as I can tell, this ration is intact with the exception of one sausage can that leaked food goo onto the box and instruction sheet. Container shows manufactured in 2002, no idea of expiration date. Box has been stored in the requisite 'cool, dark place'.

I'm not a collector and figure someone here could have for their collection or be braver than me and actually eat it - it's only 14 years old.

Not looking to sell or trade for U.S. MRE's. Here's the deal - I send it to you and and you enjoy it. If you want to send something back, that is great but not a requirement.

I would do a review of it, and send you a Food Packet, Survival, General Purpose with a 2011 production date back!

EPa´s have a shelf life of 3.5 years (after 1999). They can last longer as any preserved, canned food can.

2002 Typ 3 suppose to be "Hamburgers in tomato sauce" and a "Vegetable dish with tofu".

Finished off the Survival Rations other than the tea and bullion. Been mixing these in with the protein bars I live on. Pretty good stuff overall. The Granola and Corn Flake bars tasted just like their name. The Shortbread was very buttery tasting, lots of oil in the recipe I would presume. The Chocolate Dessert Bar was excellent - better than the monster chocolate chunk cookies I get from Jimmy Johns. The candy is basically Reeds (Lifesaver without the hole) wintergreen mints in OD packaging - edible, but nothing spectacular.
