For those of you wondering about Customs Canada letting MRE's through.
I just received my case A this morning. Thanks to the ebay asshat I bought it from who labelled it "weight gain"? WTF?. Customs decided to take a peek in my package. here's a picture, of course at this point I had already started opening it.

Love that yellow customs tape
Just opening the case wasn't enough the greedy bastards knew they were into something good, MRE's . Now they wanted to try out my Beef patty pouch

they made the cut right under the "US government property Commercial resale unlawful"
Of course I made sure some hungry customs agent didn't make off with some of my snacks. From this I can conclude that our customs doesn't seem to care about the small scale importation of MRE's. Of course this is just my experience so things may happen differently for others

So did they open up any of the MRE parts or were they just peeking inside one of the bags?
What a jackass....putting "weight gain" on it for a label.

Thankfully they didn't open any of the actual food packets just the MRE pouch itself. I can't believe what an idiot that guy was. I'm not picky about what you label it but have some truth to what is in there. Camping food, camping gear, dehydrated food, survival food, whatever just be somewhat honest, so some customs agent isn't scratching their head wondering what the hell "weight gain" is. At least I got this case as a $40 buy it now deal. Let me know when you set up that ftp drop and I'll begin to forward all my hi-res pics. No rush though, I'm heading out on a one week vacation tomorrow, so no reviews for a while.

Nice deal on the MREs - $40 buy-it-now. You don't see too many of those nowadays.

I still try to cap what i'll spend on any MRE case at $45 before shipping... as long as i'm not in a huge hurry to restock (which i'm usually not) i'll eventually run into a deal. i remember back in the day when a case went for $30-35...

I really wish i had bought more about 2months ago. The prices have totally jumped $15-20 with the beginning of hurricane season, oh well I just have to survive the bird flu

and prices should be back down by next spring.

I dunno, the Provincial Emergency Program regional manager just did a presentation here, said it's quite likely the next pandemic could be something totally different than bird flu... then again there's so many doctors and scientists sittin on the fence over this one. Eh, i'll just stay secluded in my little valley with my huge stash of canadian, us, and brit rations and i'll be good

Heh, we'll see how it goes, but I just got a $30 buy it now.. except they're out of the case.. which worries me as to what the cases looked like, but at the same time, my last purchase was over two cases of MRE's out of the box for about $25 a case, and they were all fine, except the fact that I got 3 alfredos.. which I gave to friends

BigMark, I think I've seen that auction you're talking about. What worried about that deal was that the guy had so many auctions up and yet his feedback was private.
If you get the MREs, let us all know because that's a good deal and if it's for real, I'll have to get in on it myself.

I got the tracking # today, so I'll let you know when they get here. And yes, his feedback was private, but it still shows how much feedback and how positive/negative, he hadn't had a negative in over 6 months and was 99.1% positive, so I thought I'd give it a try, I'm just going to open up something with applesauce and use that as my temperature gauge.
