If you're taking 15 all the way up into Alberta you'll pass through Idaho Falls - I recommend stopping at the Army Surplus Warehouse (http://www.armysurpluswarehouse.com - only a fraction of what's in the retail store makes it on the site). 56,000 sq ft of surplus, everything from canvas tents to leaflet bombs  They don't sell A/B cases of MREs, but they do sell individual menu items, bulk menu items, and poly tray rations. The pricing is usually insanely good (better than on the website plus no shipping costs). I stop there probably once a year for bulk food items.

Oh, and welcome to the forums!

Other than that I don't know of anything on or near 15 in this region. Nothing in Butte or Helena, MT - and nothing south of Idaho Falls for at least a hundred miles that I'm aware of - at least nothing like the surplus warehouse.

Not sure what you're referring to. What is $15 more expensive in person? Everything I'm referring to is less than $15 total in-store so we must be talking about different things. If you asked them for a price on a case of MREs, then yeah they're ripping people off there. They only sell civilian knock-off MREs by the case anyway. The real stuff they get by item in bulk. For instance, they'll get a few hundred cases of a single entree and you can by it alone or in a bulk case of usually 60.

For instance, when they still had poly trays on the site they'd have say Mashed Potatoes listed for $10 online and they'd have it for $6 in-store, plus the no-shipping factor. They have the Bridgford Foods shelf stable sandwiches (from the FSRs) in boxes of 4 for $13 in the store. They have individual sides and desserts too.

Last detail, it's a family business and the kids are terrible on the phone. If you spoke with any of the younger folks they probably didn't actually look at the site and didn't actually look up what you were referring to. I tried double checking what they had in stock on two different trips and found that the info given over the phone was flat out wrong. I was told things weren't in stock that were and was given the wrong pricing. So there's that...
