Is there any place that sells MRE's (either mil or civ) retail? I mean, one can find some camping food items at sporting goods stores, but generally not cases of stuff. Is there anyone out there that offers such things retail so that the cost of shipping can be avoided?

I'm not sure how far you live from Massachusetts or if it would be worth the gas for you, but we have a store franchise called "Ocean State Job Lot" and another called "Big Lots" which both occasionally sell the entree and side dish portions of the MREs at reasonable prices although not sure if they will give discount for case of entrees since I always have bought full meals from other sources. It might be worth your while to do an online search for these businesses and se if any are in your area. I have noticed that Army/Navy surplus stores tend to over-charge for 1980s brown pouch MREs and over-overcharge for more current stuff, I know, absolutely shocking, huh?
