Thanks for the head-up, BigMark. The guy doesn't live too far away from me so I'm going to see if he's open to local pickup.

I'm a little suspicious with the private feedback, immediate payment required, and low, low price of the MREs. But if the guy is for real, he'll let me do pick them up locally (Fayetteville, NC) for cash.

The guy just responded to me. Here's what he had to say when I asked him about picking the MREs up locally:

Belive me I would if I could but I am selling this for someone else and I am having a friend of mine mail this for me because I am ice fishing as we speak in Minnesota sorry

That sound you hear is my bullshit meter going off.

Private feedback, immediate payment required, insane price for MREs, screwed up shipping calculator...and now he's selling these for "someone else" and "a friend" will ship them because he's ice fishing.

Uh huh. Right.

Bought MRE's from this individual several times already on ebay. He's okay in my book and a fast shipper. The last ebay deal I got from him was 12 2005 meals (13-24) without carton for 29.95 plus 16.95 for shipping. Got it in about 5 days.

Thanks for the reference, Bil4444. Maybe the guy is legit - that auction just sounded real suspicious.
