US foods in exchange for rations

Post by Treesuit » Fri Jul 16, 2010 1:30 pm

Hey everyone,

I was thinking about the topic over in the "Off-topic" section of some of the foods the European folks like that are made in the US. Could maybe we do an exchange for some American civilian stuff for foreign rations? It's worth a idea.

Awesome...
That could be more feasible for those of us that have limited supplies of rations to trade....

I would be happy to take a risk, but the problem is that the civil stuff is 99,9% certain to get in the EU (as long as it doesn't contain meat or dairy) but the rats do contain meat and/or dairy.. Even the "vegetarian" rations contain milk, so if you want to play safe you would need to open those rations.

I'd be happy to trade some Dutch and/or Belgian (99,9% identical to the RCIR) rations for some civil stuff.. "just because we can" ..

And I have no clue what I like and what not.. I know I like marshmellows and poprocks.. but marshmellows are a waste of space, because we can buy them here aswell..

But they'll have to beat me to death with it because it's empty.

Cracker,

I agree that shipping civil as well as rations is like playing the lottery, sometimes it gets through sometimes not. I would suggest to you, if you like US foods, to write down what you do like and post it here or PM one of us. Your right... as long as it's not meat or dairy it can be done. Remember I did a trade for you not to long ago for some EPa drinks. Those were awesome! I'd like to trade for some of those Dutch and or Belgium rations in exchange for some US foods.

It will take some time, because my friend has most off the stuff at home (i only have a "use" supply) and he's in France right now (vacation) and is comming back about next sunday, but I don't know for sure if I see him on the monday, because I'm leaving for the airport at 5:00 in the morning (need to check in 2 hours in advance) for going to AK70g2 in Romania, and I will be there for almost 3 weeks.

I don't really know what I like most, because most stuff are only small items like pop rocks and such.. But I'm not really planning on getting a 20lb box full of pop rocks

So I'll need to sort things out first, do you have any wishes for the rats?
The belgian ones are the same as the RCIR, but with double language (Flamish (dutch) and French) and I believe the entrees are different, but the same style.. but without alle the crazy french stuff in it, like hare pâté  )
Do you need Dutch entrees, or the 24H boxes.. or both?

And how do we deal with customs? :|

Just a question about the customs. Isn't it only fresh meet and dairy product which cannot be exported/imported? According to the MRE's longevity, it can hardly be considered as fresh. It also depends on what you fill in as the goods description.

ANY meet and dairy are prohibited to import into EU.

You need to fill out a special customs declaration where you have to proof from where the meet comes from, that it is free from germs, that the seller (!) is allowed to import into EU (there is a list of US companies they are allowed to export meet into EU) and it need to be filled out into your national language!
