Are HDR's collector's items??
Are HDR's collector's items??
Hey everyone...I have been looking around, referring people and getting great information here for well over a year now and I have finally decided to register and post something!
I'm wondering about the Humanitarian Daily Rations in the pink/red packages. We have 11 sealed meals of them and can get more. The only problem is...I think they have gone bad. The center of the TTI label on the bottom of the case is black.
Normally, when that happens we just take out all the non-perishables and sell them as a lot on eBay ...but these packages looked SO COOL that I found it difficult to rip them open.
Would anyone be interested in these? They were packaged in 11/11/02 with Insp date 11/2005. They were given out during Hurricane Ike in Texas.

Hi darrad79,
welcome to forums and enjoy your stay.
Pic´s are always welcome with offers
To my own experiance with dark TTIs, it was the cheese spread, apple sauce and the coffee that was spoiled, the main courses etc. were actually still edible.

Re: Are HDR's collector's items??
Ok...here are the Humanitarian MRE's we have. My boyfriend was supposed to take a pic of the TTI label but didn't ( hard to find good help these day..jk). Anyway, like i said previously, the TTI label is black but if somebody wants 'em we will sell them for like $25 (have to make our money back) plus whatever UPS shipping is to your house. We get discounts on UPS so let me quote ya.
Also, we have some Sure-Paks (not a full case) and some older MRE's with Insp. dates of 2008 and '09.
I feel funny registering and immediately trying to sell things...hope you guys don't mind. But we have referred people here many times thru our auctions on ebay, not to mention all the "lurking" on the forums we've done. If you wanna check us out on ebay our user name is "northfortyplace" and we have sold a TON of MRE's on there.
Anyone is welcome to PM me.

Well...these ARE the old MRE's. Does $25 sound too high? I'm used to eBay prices. I paid $20 for this case myself...partly because I felt sorry for the guy and he needed the money (Im such a sucker).
But I tell you what...I just acquired 4 more FULL cases of these red HDR's. They were also packaged in 2002 and although they were kept in someones house, the TTI labels are also dark just like my other case. I will just go ahead and sell all of these HDR's for $20 a case plus shipping to your house. If anyone is interested just PM me.
Re: Are HDR's collector's items??
I DO have 4 cases of Military Issue MRE's packaged in 2006 and 1 case pkgd in 2005 which I would sell for $40 but the HDR's are OLDER than those. The HDR's were pkged in 2002.
